Privacy policy

ShakeFree Mouse is made by Wahlstrom Digital, Sweden. This policy explains what the ShakeFree Mouse app and this website do with your information. In short: your settings stay on your PC, there is no tracking, ads or analytics, and the only thing sent anywhere is your licence key, to check that it is valid.

What stays on your PC

The app saves its settings (smoothing levels, click options, shortcut and so on) and its trial and licence details only on your own PC, in the folder %APPDATA%\ShakeFreeMouse. We never receive them. The app does not record your mouse movements, clicks, keystrokes or screen.

What the app sends, and why

Only once you have bought a key, the app contacts Lemon Squeezy’s licence service to activate and check it. It sends:

• your licence key, and
• a label for the PC, “ShakeFree Mouse on your PC’s name”, so you can tell your PCs apart (each key works on up to 3 PCs).

This happens when you activate the key, about once a day while the key is active and your PC is online, and when you choose Remove from this PC. Lemon Squeezy replies with the key’s status, plan and the email address used for the purchase; the app keeps these on your PC to show your plan. Like any internet connection, these requests also reveal your IP address to Lemon Squeezy.

During the free trial the app sends nothing at all.

Payments

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record: it takes your payment and billing details and sends your receipt. We never see your card details. Lemon Squeezy handles your information under its own privacy policy. From Lemon Squeezy we receive the order details we need to support you, such as your name, email address and plan.

This website

This website uses no cookies, analytics or tracking. The activation page reads your licence key from its own address and hands it only to the ShakeFree Mouse app on your PC; it is never sent anywhere else. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may log visitors’ IP addresses for security, under GitHub’s privacy statement.

Email

If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply and help you, and do not share them.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing wahlstrom.ole@gmail.com. To remove everything the app has stored on your PC, uninstall it and delete the folder %APPDATA%\ShakeFreeMouse. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your information, you can also contact the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
